Fossil Coast is looking for talented Guest Bloggers from around the world interested in sharing their knowledge, experience and expertise about the geodiversity of their favourite places in terms of interesting land forms, rock formations, fossils, minerals, museums and breath-taking landscapes for our award-winning blog.

Fossil Coast invites Guest Bloggers over 18 years of age. We would like to collaborate with professionals, professors, post-graduates, graduates, undergraduates, and amateurs in the field’s palaeontology, earth sciences, geology, tourism and hospitality who can tell a story about the geodiversity about a place or a region. Each blog shall be promoted by Fossil Coast’s social media channels as well as the website.
By contributing your Guest Blog to Fossil Coast we are collaborating in firing up the imagination of our discerning global community who love to discover the natural world and help them to explore the past so they can better understand the present in terms of environmental protection, climate action and biodiversity loss. After all, "you have to know the past to understand the present" – quote by Carl Sagan.

The Fossil Coast community of blog readers are spread across X, Y and Z generations, they enjoy sustainable travel, are environmentally consciousness, they look to engage with their environment and are always looking to learn about their travel destination.

The Guest Blog
Fossil Coast is not looking for PhD level research papers or extracts though these maybe the basis of your Guest Blog. We are interested in original blogs that simply decode the complexity of the earth sciences and demonstrate first-hand your expertise, depth of knowledge, and expertise. Our average blog session duration is approximately over 4 minutes so our blogs are read.
After reading your Guest Blog the reader should walk away with a feeling that they have added to their own knowledge and should be able to easily communicate this content to others.
Guest Blog Structure
The Guest Blog should be provided in English and have a minimum word count of 750 words and a maximum of 2,000 words. Keep paragraphs short with a maximum of 3-4 sentences per paragraph. All images used require permission to use and a copyright notice and should ideally be high resolution and provided in PNG at a minimum size of 900 pixels wide and 420 pixels tall.

Images should have a short caption and preferably an Alt-Text description. Fossil Coast has the right to add these if provided without a descriptive file name, caption, or Alt-Text. Avoid bolding or font formatting in sentences. Fossil Coast shall have the right to structure the blog page and implement the SEO to include structured data markup, meta tags, and page tags so it is findable online. Fossil Coast shall add advertising at its discretion.
Blog Title
For consistency Fossil Coast proposes the following title structure to ensure the clarity and readability of content.
Discover [PLACE NAME – Country, Region] and explore the [Geodiversity, Fossils, etc..] of [Name of Fossil, Land Form, Mineral, Landscape] in [LOCAL PLACENAME].
Note: All Guest Blogs may require a Google Map to show their location so please provide an accurate place name or map reference if a fossil site.
Guest Blog Biography
All Guest Blogs are required to be submitted with a maximum 250 word biography along with a digital photography of the creator. This Bio shall include your Name, Title(s), Occupation, University, Area of Expertise, and links to your social media profiles. In accordance, with the Information Commissioner's Office your contact details (email & phone number) will be kept centrally and not displayed.
